Apple Press
The Harvest is here, and copies of the Apple Press are now available!
Apple Press is a children's journal for three vulnerable groups of children who have had limited or no access to technology during this second educational lockdown.
The journal is an eclectic mix of stories, poems, photos, illustrations and activities contributed by artists and educators from around the world, hanging roughly around the themes of Star⭐, Tree 🌳, Creature 🐅, Bird 🦅 and Earth 🌎.
Our inaugural edition is being distributed freely to Beggar school children of Manali, Young monks of Phugtal Monastery, Zanskar and children of the Da Hanu tribe, Leh
We plan to bring extracts from the journal alive through in-person workshops held by professional performance artists, in relevant translation, during the course of 2022.

Tansy Troy
JOURNAL EDITOR
Tansy has been making books ever since she can remember: a young people’s journal, however, is a new adventure inspired after a year ‘locked-down’ in the midst of glorious apple orchards and under a heaven of stars. She is motivated to edit The Apple Press for KINSHIP and children across India by the need to see print and illustration on hand-made paper, especially for young people in areas too remote for technology; she has been overwhelmed by the generosity of the artistic community and their contributions of writing, photographs and artwork to this inaugural edition. She looks forward to sharing this wealth with young people in Manali, Zanskar, Leh and many other places on beautiful planet Earth.

Dikshit Sharma
DESIGN DIRECTOR
Dikshit has a knack for photography and visual storytelling with a critical eye for creative details. Formally trained in Design at IIT Hyderabad, his exploratory encounters with the ethics of documentary photography have been enhanced through masterclasses with Stuart Franklin of Magnum and Pep Bonet of NOOR. He exhibited his photobook Jonbeel in the Indian Photo Festival 2019 to the critical acclaim of visual art connoisseurs and aficionados of both national and international repute. His passion for travelling wild and on the path less trodden imbues his imagery with a sense of the mysterious and an insight into vanishing ways. He directs the aesthetic for Apple Press and inspires with photos, songs and an in-depth knowledge of visual design.
